Vinings was home to The Creek and Cherokee Indians who settled here because of its proximity to the Chattahoochee River. Settler Hardy Pace launched a ferry operation here in the 1830s; and, the Western & Atlantic Railroad established Vinings as a major crossroads. Today, Vinings will soon be home to the Cobb Energy Center for the Performing Arts which will be located at the intersection of I-285 and I-75. The Cobb Energy Center for the Performing Arts will feature Broadway plays and shows, concerts, musicals, events and various other performances.
